One of the most significant challenges in life is finding what is often referred to as one's path or passion. Financial concerns, family dynamics, and painful experiences can obscure our vision and what we internally believe is possible for our lives. We make mistakes, fall into disruptive patterns, suffer pain, and experience heartbreak, yet we persist in pressing forward. What transforms our mistakes, disruptive patterns, and painful experiences into opportunities for achieving goals and success is the courage to slow down and ask ourselves powerful questions that lead to changes in our thinking.
The impulse of thought that moves through our minds frames what and how we interact with ourselves, others, and the world around us. We can all look at the same portrait, a view of the mountains or the sea, yet we will each see something different. What we see is not the challenge, but how we frame it. If I say that you can achieve or experience the life you desire, you will decide whether you believe this is true based on several factors, including how you view yourself and the life you have lived. With this in mind, does it make my statement false, or does it indicate that a change in perspective may be needed?
Every skill we obtain in life is developed through training and practice. Training and practice are not limited to formal education but also include personal practices that shape the psychological and emotional structure of our lives. The more we practice, the more skilled we become. The question is what practices require adjustment and transformation into other practices that better reflect our true path or passion in life? Let us take the desire for a healthy and rewarding relationship as your passion. To enjoy a healthy relationship, it begins with the first relationship, which is the one we have with ourselves. What does this relationship need to feel healthy, thriving, and ready to share with others? What habits might need to be explored and changed? Do I possess a high willingness to change? Do I have the integrity to inform others if I am not able to be a healthy partner in my relationship? Asking ourselves probing questions may seem challenging, but they are powerful steps toward building healthy relationships that thrive.
A deep desire to grow and change enables us to see beyond the veil, to discern what is truly real, rather than the limiting picture or constriction we have co-created with others. Seeing beyond the veil enables us to transcend the conventional narrative of what a successful life looks like and choose our own path. The support you need to bring your vision to life will be tailored to you, enabling your growth. If you are learning to be more patient, you will have the opportunity to practice patience. In the process, you will know why you desire to practice patience through the things you learn and experiences that do not happen without the practice of patience.
Set your mind clearly on what you desire to have in your life. Ensure it is genuine and accurately reflects what you truly want to achieve. Without this clarity, you risk wasting time and resources. This is a great time to start incorporating journaling or other successful practices if you don't already do so. I journal daily about the goals I have for my life, which blend seamlessly with both my personal and professional objectives. The point is the clarity. Whatever tool supports your clarity supports your practice, or the habits that produce the change you seek.
Through your practice, you will not be concerned with what if, because you are in the process of creating the reality you seek. Your capacity to change will continue, and your perspective on the world will expand. You guarantee this through the practice of change. Your process is unique. Words like 'easy' and 'difficult' are avoided because they can distract and detract each person from their process of growth and change. We don’t complain about winter, rain, or intense heat, but prepare for the environment in which we live. You are not a victim of circumstance. You are circumstance.
